Applied Jewish Philosophy....Join the Conversation

The Vaad is an interactive, experiential and fun learning practicum introducing Jewish insights and practical tools for refining character traits, strengthening self esteem and enhancing relationships. Looking to live an empowered life? Discover how the Torah guides in accessing the greatness within each and every one of us.

Meeting weekly for the span of the semester, the Vaad will venture into the world of Mussar, the aspect of Judaism that focuses on practical ethics. Each session, through exploring the hidden simplicity of abstract mystical teachings, will focus on a unique concept in personal character development, introduced through an exciting and thought provoking discussion.

Inspired by classic Kabbalah (Jewish Mystical teachings), students are introduced to Judaism's deep and fascinating mystical wisdom. Modeling Vaadim (groups/gatherings) of early 19th century Europe, the Vaad demonstrates in a simple integratable manner the relevance of these abstract concepts to our daily lives on campus. By providing a dynamic and intimate environment, a comfortable space is created in which to share your personal thoughts among other inquisitive students. The Vaad will offer Shabbatons both on and off campus and an opportunity to hear from occasional amazing guest speakers.

Scholars will meet @ GA Tech - Mondays at 8:30 PM. Instructional Center room 113

@ UGA - Tuesday at 6:30 PM, at the Maimo House (115 Cherokee Avenue)
